El nombre de la banda proviene del apellido de la madre de uno de los primeros miembros de la banda, cuando se dieron cuenta que sonaba igual que la palabra paramour en frances y significaba amante secreto decidieron adoptarla como nombre pero con la ortografía de paramore.
Hasta el momento tienen dos discos en el mercado, algunos de sus exitos son Emergency, Misery Business y CrushCrushCrush. Aunque su mayor reconocimiento por parte de algunos se debio al trabajo desempeñado en como banda sonora de la Pelicula Crepusculo (Twilight) con temas como Decode y I caught my self.
